Application Details

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIRED INFORMATION

  1. Contact Information: Provide your current phone number and personal email address. DO NOT use your school email address. We'll use this email for all Bootstraps communications, which may continue for several years, and you will no longer have your school address when you graduate from high school.

  2. Official Transcript: Request your transcript directly through the application. If you attend a school other than Clear Creek, Conifer, Evergreen, or Platte Canyon, you'll be asked to enter the name, email, and phone number of the person who can provide your transcript.

  3. Academic Information: Include the name of your high school, your counselor's name, and your GPA.

  4. Financial Information: You must complete the FAFSA and upload your FAFSA Submission Summary showing your SAI. It can take 2-3 weeks to receive your report, so please be aware of your time. You can access the FAFSA form here.

    • Other Financial Resources allows you to list any scholarships you have been offered, 529 accounts, trust funds, assistance from a relative other than your parents, or other funding you have been offered.

  5. Postsecondary Plans: List the colleges, universities, community colleges, or career/trade/vocational/certification programs you've applied to or plan to attend. Please list them in order of preference.

  6. Recommendation: Request one recommendation from a TEACHER (you will be able to request the recommendation from within the application).

  7. Essays: Your essays help us get to know you. Please write in your own, authentic voice. We strongly discourage the use of Artificial Intelligence tools, and you will need to sign an Essay Integrity Statement before submitting your application. The essay prompts are:

    • Who are you today? Who do you want to be and what do you want to be doing in five years, ten years, and twenty years?

    • Tell us about a time your opinion of someone changed for the better.

    • There is an optional third essay allowing you to explain anything else you think the evaluators should know about you, and we highly recommend you complete it.

  8. Activities: List extracurricular activities, clubs, athletics, or organizations you have participated in during high school.

  9. Community Service: List all volunteer and community service activities.

  10. Work Experience: List your employers, dates of employment, and job responsibilities.

Parents
We understand and appreciate your support, but this application needs to be completed by the student. This is the student's journey. They should be able to fully experience this process, and we want to hear their authentic voice. We can usually tell when a parent has worked on the application, and we take that into consideration during our evaluation process.

Questions
If you have questions while completing the application, please contact Susan Henry at susan@bootstrapsinc.org or 720-618-8924.
