How are the scholarship funds disbursed to my college/university/school/program?
How do I get my loan funds?

I. The first step in the disbursement process is to send a thank you note to your donor(s). You should have received a blank thank you note with your award letter for each scholarship or loan along with the name and address of your donor(s). You also should have received a self-addressed envelope to mail the notes back to Bootstraps.
II. When you receive your billing statement from your school, upload it to the Bootstraps portal using the url you received via email. It can take up to three weeks to process your scholarship payment.
If you are also receiving a loan, upload a completed loan agreement. Loan checks are sent directly to you to be used for school-related expenses.
III. If you are receiving a loan only, complete item I. above. Then upload your completed loan agreement along with a tuition bill. It can take up to three weeks to process your loan check.
If you did not receive a Bootstraps interest-free loan this year, you will have the opportunity to apply for one in May 2025. You will receive an email when the application is available.

- Write a note for each of your donors. Be sure to refer to the donor by name in the greeting line of the note. Sign your full name to the note.
- Using the smaller envelope provided with each thank you note, write the name and address of the donor as if you were going to mail it yourself. Include your return address. It's a big help to Bootstraps if you also put a stamp on the envelope.
- Insert the thank you note(s) inside their envelopes, then into the self-addressed envelope to Bootstraps. Mail this to Bootstraps.
- We will record that you have thanked your donor(s) and mail the note(s) for you.
