We asked our recipients how they are handling the stay at home order and to tell us something positive that has happened because of the pandemic.

I am doing zoom with friends and family! I can see friends and family all over the states! I am exercising to get back in shape with online yoga and lots of walking.

To pass the time, I’ve been taking my dogs on walks about three times a day. I moved back up to Wyoming into my sister’s house and have been organizing the food cabinets, cleaning. The most positive thing that has happened to me since the virus is how much time I’ve been able to spend with my dad and dogs, along with the fact that my chemistry professor has been generous enough to cancel our cumulative final!

One positive thing with regard to COVID-19 is that I have learned how to incorporate massive change into my life. One of my classes is a Foreign Global Experience (FGX) [for which] I was initially going to travel to Copenhagen and consult with a Danish company on an issue they needed to address. As a result, I am learning how to continue this project when I face barriers such as the trip portion being cancelled.

One positive thing that I’ve experienced is that I spend more time with my family and I have been building stronger connections with them. Being at home all the time makes me feel like a kid again and it’s nice to have a lot of free time to do the things I love and be with the people I love.
