2012 Bootstraps Recipients

Robin Colombin speaks to the 2016 Bootstraps Recipients at the Evergreen Lake House reception on May 16, 2016
Robin Colombin, a 2012 Evergreen High School graduate, recently graduated from DU with a Bachelor's degree in International Business. She has volunteered at a couple of Bootstraps events this summer while waiting to head off on her next big adventure.

When Robin spoke to the 2016 Bootstraps Recipients recently at the Evergreen Lake House, she said that receiving scholarships and loans from Bootstraps was a huge financial relief for her and her family. Equally important was the gift of time; because of the financial support she received from the Bootstraps community, she had the time to study, the time to volunteer, and the time to participate in activities because she didn't have to spend as much time working.

Robin's next adventure? She is joining the Peace Corps as a Community Business Advisor and will be stationed in the Republic of Benin, West Africa. The people of Benin have no idea how fortunate they are to have this amazing young professional to help them in the community, but they will soon find out.

Good luck, Robin!
